I have recently received this one from my niece Sandra who showed a keen interest in the subject and asked me to publish her article (which was a part of her university assignment).

Hair loss is something that is dreaded by many men and even a few women. Just what is it that causes hair loss anyway? Why do some have a full head of hair while others are barely hanging on to their last strand? Well, the answers can be many. Nonetheless, there are also many options these days that can help to counter excessive hair fall and reverse the problem. In this article, I will discuss some of these options. Here we go, my 15 natural hair loss tips worth diving in head first:

1. Castor Oil

Healthy hair is like a beautiful flower growing in a fertile soil. I mean to say that a healthy and nourished scalp will give your hear the best environment to grow fast and strong. And for that you will need castor oil. It is the best oil to grow a lustrous and voluminous head of hair. How to use: add a teaspoon of castor oil to your shampoo (mix both in your palm) and a half-teaspoon into your conditioner. Use a mild shampoo, preferably herbal. Very soon you will notice the results: hair loss will be much less and you hair will gain texture and thickness.

2. Skin and Hair Vitamins (with Biotin as the main component)

Taking the essentil vitamins is a must-do practice for those lacking in the healthy-eating department. Results will be obvious in about three months, so patience is definitely in order here.

3. Emu Oil

An emu may seem like just an awkward, clumsy, flightless bird to you, but to the Australian Aborigines, this bird held magical healing properties for a multitude of ailments. Emu oil is highly penetrating, anti-inflammatory and non-comodogenic, which means it will not clog up pores. Rubbed directly onto scalp and leave in overnight, and then get ready to watch the healing begin. Sleeping hair follicles will be awoken and strengthened. Such an amazing oil that is definitely worth further investigation.

4. Aloe Vera

Used for ages by the people of the Caribbean and Native Americans, Aloe Vera has been touted as a leading promoter of the prevention of hair loss and luscious healthy hair. Aloe Vera will balance your scalp’s PH level, as well as aid in healing. Using Aloe Vera to mix into your daily shampoo or with a carrier oil such as jojoba, Castor or olive oil will provide deep soothing and penetrating healing.

5. Black Strap Molasses

This one has a high level of iron (which is very beneficial for strong hair). Therefore, two teaspoons per day will give your skin and hair a total positive transformation, as well as boost your energy and general well-being. It can be taken in several ways. Try it to spice up coffee with a tablespoon, in warm soy milk as a mystical latte or even mixed in a couple of teaspoons of peanut butter. Make sure it’s unsulphered for the best results. I’ve even applied it directly on my scalp for a deep-nourishing intense treatment. It’s a sticky process, so be gentle and allow to seep into your scalp for at least 30 minutes. Be sure, splendid hair will follow.

6. Olive Oil and Rosemary

If you’ve tried home-spun conditioning recipes before for glorious hair, then no doubt, you’ve soaked your precious locks into olive oil, but have you thought to add the very potent Rosemary? This essential oil is proven to heal, even the most stubborn scalps, and provide an unequaled nourishment for super-healthy and an easily manageable mane. Rosemary adds antioxidant effects and adds loads of shine, not to mention it’s proven strengthening capabilities.

Another simple but often overlooked technique for keeping healthy hair is to drink lots of water! Dehydration can greatly affect the health of your hair and scalp. If your body is not hydrated your hair follicles will not have sufficient means to stay healthy and thus growth of the hair could be stunted

8. Sage Tea

Create an extra-strength Sage tea herbal rinse. Steep two bags of pure sage tea in 8 ounces of very hot water for about 10 minutes. After hair has been shampooed and towel-dried, gently pat and massage cooled tea into scalp. Rinse and bask in your full, rich hair. The healing properties in this aromatic tea are holistic and a major treat for all of your senses to enjoy.

In India, neem oil has been used for ages as a preventative and combative tool in hair loss. In order to get the full effects of the amazing Neem oil, it’s best to use as a deep intense conditioning treatment. Directly massage neem oil into scalp and hair, and leave in overnight. Wash out with your herbal shampoo, or even better try a specialty shampoo that also contains neem. Potentially perfect hair is closer than you think.

10. Sesame Oil

This overnight treatment will allow you to wake up to ultimate sheen and a new vibrant hair vitality. Sesame oil rubbed into your scalp and then covered with either a just-outta-the-dryer warm towel or basic shower cap for an overnight ritual will not only relieve scalp irritation, but will wake-up weak and tired hair follicles.

Prepare this superior treatment by mixing equal parts of ACV and water (4 ounces and 4 ounces). Add in drops of the essential oil sage (8-10 drops will suffice) and gently massage into scalp. Wrap hair in a towel and prepare to leave in for at least 30-45 minutes. Follow-up with your herbal shampoo and conditioner and make sure to to do this every other wash, or at the very least, once a week.

12. Farewell to Hats

Do you wear hats? If so you may want to reconsider! Studies have shown that hats can suffocate the hair follicles and could very well cause bald spots and prevent new growth from happening.

13. Hypnosis

This one has become quite popular among hair loss sufferers these days due to the substantial results. Hypnosis has been shown to assist people in a variety of health issues and recently many people are turning to hypnosis as a means to prevent their hair from falling out. During a hypnosis session, someone suffering from hair loss will be persuaded at the subconscious level that they really do have a full head of hair. That their hair is growing faster and stronger and healthier than ever. Although these techniques seem very unusual, more and more people are swearing by this method as being extremely effective.

14. Silica

Silica deficiency can be the main reason for sudden hair fall. Eating foods that are rich in the mineral silica have been shown to slow down or stop hair loss. Those foods include: apples, beets, oranges, cherries, Corn, pumpkin, cucumbers, chickpeas, red Kidney beans, eggplant, figs, fish, grapes, honey, spinach, lettuce, seafood products, and many others.

15. Red Meat = Problem?

How about your diet? It has been said that too much red meat can cause hair loss. So perhaps if you watch what you eat, you might stand a better chance of keeping your hair. This hasn’t been proven, but it does seem like people in Asia have more hair than people in the West (people in Asia usually eat less red meat).

Losing your hair can be a depressing and horrifying experience for men or women. However, it’s not the end of the world. You can choose to either embrace baldness or do something about it. As you can see, there’s a plenty of options to consider (separately or altogether). The choice is yours.

Long hair is considered to be one of indispensable attributes of women’s and sometimes men’s beauty. As a result, many people want to have long beautiful hair. But there is a problem – the natural rate of hair growth is extremely low. As a matter of fact, hair grows about 1 cm a month on average. So you need to wait for months in order to obtain the desired length of your hair. Life is so short, but we want everything once. That is why “How to make hair grow faster?” is a fair question.

First of all, we need to know whether it is possible to speed up hair growth at all. Unfortunately, the rate of hair growth is limited genetically and acceleration of its growth from this point is impossible, as it is impossible to change your genes. However, there are already hair extensions available if you are desperate of having your desired hair style.

Nevertheless, most often our hair just can’t grow at maximum speed. Its growth is slowed down by a lot of reasons and factors and if we eliminate them, we will make our hair grow significantly faster.

What slows down hair growth. Generally speaking, the main reason is your body’s inability to provide necessary conditions for normal hair growth. It is possible that your hair simply lacks vital “building blocks”, minerals and vitamins for hair growth,  or, perhaps, it just can’t grow fast because of improper hair care.

In order to grow healthy and strong your hair is in need of the following substances: calcium, chromium, iodine, iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium, silicon, sulfur, and zinc. So eat more food, which contains these necessary nutrients. For example, milk, brussels sprouts, fruit and vegetables are an excellent source of them.

Beta-carotene also contributes to fast hair growth. It is contained mostly is green and yellow fruit and vegetables. Biotin is very important for your hair as well. Soybeans, oats, legumes, walnuts, brown rice and brewers yeast are all good sources of this element. Remember that consumption of these nutrients should be constant, so make sure your diet is well-balanced.

Blood is the means that delivers these building material to your scalp and hair. Thus, in order to bring nutrients to your head with greater intensity you need to improve blood circulation. Head massage is the best method for it. You should massage your scalp at least ten minutes a day to achieve good result. Use of oil mixture makes massage more effective. For example, you can mix olive, coconut and castor oil and warm it up. Then put this mixture on your scalp and massage it with your fingertips.

Wrong hair care or the lack of it is the second reason that prevents your hair from growing faster. It turns out that hair condition of the majority of people is far from being perfect, but they still wonder why their hair grows so slow.

All our organs are to this or that extent interconnected, so it is important to keep the entire body in healthy state. Any sort of disorder or dysfunction will immediately affect the whole body and hair in particular. Therefore, the primary task is to begin to live healthy life.

Second of all, you hair needs proper and regular care. Washing is the most important thing here. You should wash your head as often as it’s necessary to keep it clean. The excessive amount of sebum, dandruff and other substances that are accumulated on the scalp and hair reduce normal blood circulation and hinder normal functioning of hair follicles. Consequently, it slows down hair growth. It is also of high importance to pick up shampoo or/and conditioner that suits your hair type.

These are only the first steps, but even if you start making them you will significantly speed up your hair growth. Surely, they are taken for granted, but at the same time they are often forgotten about.

Avoid stress, have more rest, improve your sleep. Stick to a diet, eat more healthy food. Drink less coffee. Quit smoking. Drink plenty of water to bring out toxins from your body. Live a healthy lifestyle and be persistent in that. And your hair will say thank you and repay you with a faster growth.
