What makes our hair look healthy and lustrous? What do its natural growth and lifecycle depend on? To find the answers to these questions we first need to know what our hair is made of and how it is formed. There are many different biological processes going on in human bodies. One of them is the so called keratinization. In course of this process the insoluble protein keratin (a.k.a horn matter) is being deposited in the epidermal cells. Keratinization is the main reason for natural hair growth. It occurs constantly making the cells transform into horny plates. Hence, our hair is basically composed of keratin and its growth and condition wholly depend upon this substance.
Keratin is formed in hair follicles. The new keratin is very gentle, especially at the hair root, making hair soft and silky. With the growth of keratin hair becomes firmer and stronger. Due to it our hair has the proper structure and integrity. There are no such problems as hair loss, split ends, tousled hair if there is 100% of keratin in hair.
